Big about music

Funded by Youth Music, The Big Leap project is part of the Big About Music programme of Corby and Kettering Music Action Zone.

Two phases of workshops starting with introducing traditional Chinese music. The workshop was hands-on-experience for young people. For many participants it was their first time experience in Chinese music. The second phase was to prepare and practice a piece of Chinese music especially orchestrated and conducted by workshop leader Jiang Li for each group. There was a final performance at the end of the project.

There were 5 groups between Corby and Kettering:

Corby Junior Percussion Group – Tiny Vegetable
Corby String and Woodwind Group – Clouds Chasing The Moon
Corby Brass Ensemble – Marching
Kettering String Orchestra – Jasmine Flowers
Kettering Jazz Ensemble – Nanping Bells
